Tuff Stuff™ Red Mountain Hydrangea

Closely related to H. macrophylla, H. serrata has very similar cultural requirements but better flower bud hardiness for improved blooming. Tuff Stuff Red hydrangea’s flowers open to a two-toned green and red and then mature to dark red-pink. The lacecap flowers first appear in early summer, and continue to bloom through the summer. Flower color will be purplish in more acidic soils. This is an excellent choice for climates where bigleaf hydrangeas struggle to overwinter.
