Pruning is generally not needed, but can be trimmed in late winter. Branches may be cut for arrangements in fall and winter. It does require a male pollinator to produce fruit; Mr. Poppins™ is the preferred pollinator.
Berry Poppins® Winterberry Holly
Our native winterberry holly is an adaptable plant that will tolerate a variety of conditions, including clay soils, and may be used for rain gardens as well as general landscaping and cutting gardens. Berry Poppins® is a heavy fruiting dwarf plant with better fruit set than ‘Red Sprite’. It is ideal for small sites that need winter color. Use Mr. Poppins® as a pollinator.
